Context and challenge
Wesołe Skarpetki had a large, colourful catalogue. The storefront around it was shaped by the limits of earlier platforms and themes, and the move to Shopify had to preserve products, variants, categories and stock while giving the brand a distinct shopping experience on mobile and desktop.
The visible shop was one part of the delivery. Catalogue ownership, shipping, payments, domains, certificates and company email all had to work together on launch day. The client needed a store the team could edit whenever a collection or promotion changed, without touching code.
Solution
I handled the project from design through launch and operation. I created the visual system, information architecture and mobile shopping flow, then wrote a custom Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme in Liquid, CSS and JavaScript. The theme covers the home page, collections, product pages, search, cart drawer, customer accounts, content pages, gift cards and checkout handoff.
Every major section is configurable in the Shopify Customizer. The team can change the hero, category blocks, featured products, delivery threshold, reviews, FAQ and newsletter without editing a template. The cart updates through the Section Rendering API, product filtering works across the catalogue and the interface uses a Polish localisation written for the store.
I configured Shopify, payments and delivery, connected BaseLinker as the catalogue and stock source and Furgonetka for fulfilment, and handled the platform migrations, the domain, DNS, SSL and the company email. Theme Check finishes with zero errors and zero warnings. I continue to run the advertising.
